Halloween is so weird to me, it started becoming popular in Australia just before I came to the States, and not being rooted in any sort of history (also: it’s late spring so, wrong season, guys) it came across as a sad marketing thing
Our youngest son has a peanut allergy so this year, like last year, I’ll be going as a helicopter parent.
Despite the stress, I love watching our two boys get out there and have a great time with all the other kids, it’s hard to argue with all that joy. This year our guys are going as knights which is awesome, but with swords.
Does it have its roots in marketing? Doesn’t matter to me! It’s too fun to dress up in a wacky costume, and to see your female friends in sexy nurse outfits!
Although that’s probably just a thing with people my age…
Hi Amit,
Nice to see you here! Halloween is originally related to the Autumn harvest, and I really have no problem with it, but in Australia has it’s roots on marketing, and it takes place in the middle of Spring. It’s driven by grocery stores.
